Shania Twain Wows at People’s Choice Awards with Iconic Throwback Look

Must read

Saddling up to the People’s Choice Awards red carpet in a torso-bearing homage of her 1998 “That Don’t Impress Me Much” video look, Shania Twain showed fans that she’s still the one. Looking better than ever, the 57-year-old singer and performer geared up for her performance as the recipient of the Music Icon Award during the show, but it was her red-carpet walk that had us all running to our workout apps to schedule in some more crunches.

Twain wore a Rodarte gown that channeled her late 90’s belly-bearing, low-rise, leopard-print getup. And while many of us mere mortals couldn’t rock it back then like she did, the eternally youthful singer proved she could do it again with a sheer paneled torso that showed off her impressive abs.

To add a modern twist, celebrity hairstylist Frankie Foye gave Twain a temporary pastel pink ‘do in place of the video’s fiery, copper red fringe. Prior to the awards, Foye teased a possible red moment, but the star took center stage in a Barbiecore pink wig as she sang a melody of her biggest hits.

“We wanted to soften and bring out the warm tones in her skin so we settled on this hair color,” Foye told us. “I cut soft face-framing layers and long bangs so that all the on stage costume changes would end up in a messy, sexy texture that easily fell into place. I loved this look on her and it’s sure to become iconic!”

Twain continued her modernized take on the classic song by changing up her famous Brad Pitt lyric and replacing it with a mention of fellow People’s Choice Icon award winner Ryan Reynolds, who seemed honored to be included in the crowd-pleasing hit.
