Dewy, lightweight, fresh-faced, and illuminating are just a few adjectives that describe the look and feel of Saie Beauty Glowy Super Gel, which is why I’ve gone through bottles of the brand’s original two shades in the past year. It’s quickly become an everyday addition to my natural makeup routine. Roseglow, the newest shade extension to the lineup, was inspired by that rose-gold hue that kisses your skin during sunset. The hue adds that beloved no-makeup makeup look that practically grabs the light and reflects it off your skin for an attention-grabbing complexion.
It’s no secret that Glowy Super Gel is a must-have in many of Allure beauty editors’ makeup kits, as the gel is versatile enough to adapt to any makeup (or skin-care) routine. Whether you’re looking to add some highlight and dimension on top of your makeup, mix it in with your skin tint or foundation to create a sheer, dewy finish, or look fresh-faced and plump on a no-makeup day, a pump or two of this gel has made quite the commotion. I’m drawn to the new shade, Roseglow, for several reasons, namely for its subtle touch of pink that isn’t too pigmented alone, but add it to the top of your blush and eyebrow bone, and you’ve created a deadly combination that commands attention.

The Roseglow shade was introduced to me last month, and I instantly noticed a subtle tint of pink outside of the slightly frosted glass bottle. I, of course, swatched pump worth onto my hand and blended it with my fingertips. The rosy yet slightly golden shade extension still contains the same, beloved gel-based formula that adds a touch of that ever-wanting, summertime golden hour reflection–which Saie Beauty founder and CEO Laney Crowell revealed was a huge inspiration for the Roseglow shade extension.
After applying my facial sunscreen, I reached for Roseglow in the morning, dabbing a pea’s-worth onto my cheekbones and bridge of my nose. I found Roseglow, compared to the champagne and golden-bronze shades that came before, the middle sister, best suited for my brown, olive-toned skin.
Even though I like my skin-care and makeup routines simple, I prefer to keep my complexion products and illuminators separate. Combined, they can look too greasy or oily when mixed in a two-in-one formula. A huge reason why I grab this tube on the daily, adding a touch of dewiness to only the areas I want to shine. Plus, this gel prides itself on its skin care-makeup hybrid ingredients that blend a dose of hydration and flush of color that won’t disrupt even the most sensitive skin types—or look greasy. This is why Glowy Super Gel is the ideal candidate for a bit of makeup that feels more like a skin-care addition.
We previously asked Connecticut-based dermatologist Mona Gohara, MD, to share a few ingredients that stood out to her in this formulation, to which she said triglyceride and squalane. “These will strengthen the skin’s barrier, keeping the water-based formula locked into the skin and hydrated,” she said. Glycerin is also on the list of Dr. Gohara stand-out ingredients as it “keeps the skin plump and radiant.”
Sunglow (a golden bronze) is a must-have for me during winter when my olive-toned skin needs a picker-upper and some golden undertones. During the summer, I’ll add a touch on top of my bronzer and eyelids for a golden glow. But for someone with a lighter complexion, Starglow (champagne) would be a great dewy addition. While Roseglow, compared to the champagne and golden-bronze shades that came before, looks neutral on my olive-toned complexion, I found that this shade, along with Starglow, works nicely on lighter complexions. Sunglow, on the other hand, is my secret for when I want to add a bit of bronze to my skin in the winter, and what I would suggest for darker complexions looking for a touch of color and a whole lot of glow.

Because I’m not a full-coverage, matte girl, I prefer to prime my skin with an illuminating base. And since Glowy Super Gel’s formula is water-based, I don’t have to worry about creasing or flaking after the product dries down, even in the peak of summer when the AC is cranking everywhere I go. My only precaution is applying too much product, as too much gel on my cheekbones full of blush, can lead to the blush lifting and splotching.
Applying with precaution, I typically blend the gelly texture with a big buffing brush on my chest or an angled brush on my cheekbones, for even application. Using a brush helps move around the one or two pumps of product, especially on larger areas like my arms and chest. But when brushes aren’t in grabbing distance, or I’m rushing out the door, my hands and fingers work just fine for my cheekbones and browbones. There are no streaks or fine lines with Glowy Super Gel—and that’s the beauty of its formulation.
