The Queen of Pop has taken to social media to address fans following her recent hospitalization, revealing her challenging choice to reschedule her upcoming tour until October. In a heartfelt message shared on her Instagram page, Madonna expressed her immediate concerns after a serious bacterial infection landed her in ICU. Upon awakening in the hospital, she said the first thing she thought of was her children, but also on her mind was the feeling of letting her loyal supporters down.
“Thank you for your positive energy, prayers and words of healing and encouragement,” she wrote. “My first thought when I woke up in the hospital was my children. My second thought was that I did not want to disappoint anyone who bought tickets for my tour.”
The star expressed deep gratitude for the commitment and dedication of her team, who had collaborated with her over the past few months to create her Celebration tour. “My focus now is my health and getting stronger and I can assure you, I’ll be back with you as soon as I can!”
Originally scheduled to commence in North America with a performance in Vancouver on July 15, Madonna has decided to prioritize her recovery and consequently postpone the start of her highly anticipated tour and begin in October in Europe. Her announcement comes after the star has been sighted in public after the hospitalization. During her medical ordeal, the pop sensation found herself in critical condition, battling a severe bacterial infection that necessitated intensive care.
“I couldn’t be more grateful for your care and support,” wrote the singer. Her legions of worried fans, including celebrity fans like Andy Cohen, Julia Fox and Diplo, have all rallied to share comments of encouragement and well wishes for a speedy recovery.
