Kate Middleton and her family joined King Charles III for Christmas morning service today in Sandringham, Norfolk, continuing the royal family tradition they had done for decades before with the Queen. And the Princess of Wales leaned into holiday spirit by wearing a festive olive monochrome ensemble.
Kate paired a green feathered wide-brimmed hat with a matching military-style coat dress by Alexander McQueen and brown boots. She wore gold dangle earrings and styled her hair down and straight. Kate has worn the coat dress before, as Vogue pointed out. She first wore the piece for engagements in Bradford in January 2020; it was bespoke.
Kate Middleton in Bradford first wearing the coat
Kate escorted her three children, 9-year-old Prince George, 7-year-old Princess Charlotte, and 4-year-old Prince Louis, to service with her husband Prince William. It was Louis’s first time appearing at Christmas day service. He wore navy, and Kate was photographed holding his hand.
This marks the royal family’s second appearance all together since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s full Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan came out. None of the royals have commented on it, and they have maintained a business-as usual approach on their social media. Their first appearance was for the taping of Kate Middleton’s Together at Christmas special, which aired last night in the U.K. George and Charlotte joined their parents for the carol service taping for the first time. That taping was on December 15, the same day the second part of Harry & Meghan was released.
While Kate and William were reported to have purposely not watched the series (aides did though), Us Weekly reported this week that Kate was particularly upset by what Harry said in it.
A source said, “Kate feels hurt and betrayed that Harry would do this to her too, especially as the pair used to be so close.”
