Jada Pinkett Smith has been candid about her journey with alopecia and hair loss since she first opened up about it on her web series Red Table Talk, in 2018. Her alopecia in general was suddently a national conversation because it was central to the controversy at the 2022 Oscars, but her actual experience with the autoimmune disorder quickly became a backdrop to the smack heard around the world. Despite all the negative and unnecessary attention, Pinkett Smith has a new update for her followers, and it includes a super cute silver pixie.

Pinkett Smith posted two selfies on her Instagram page on August 7 with the caption, “This here hair is act’n like it’s try’n a make a come back. Still have some trouble spots but — we’ll see. Slide 1: Past Slide 2: Present.” The first slide is an older selfie of the Girls Trip actor completely bald with a face of light makeup.

The next photo is a similar selfie, but this time around, her head was covered with black and silver hair with a short fade. The dyed platinum hair on the top of her head was the longest, while her sides were closely shaven down. The sections at her roots and closest to her ear were a brunette hue, likely her own natural hair color.
