Hailey Bieber doesn’t mind a little cold. The model and Rhode Beauty founder documented herself taking a cold plunge yesterday on TikTok, submerging herself in cold water in an outdoor tub while sporting a navy bikini. She noted that she takes a dip for “30 seconds minimum” and that “cold plunging has helped me a lot with anxiety and overall mood.”

This isn’t her first time documenting her plunges on TikTok. Last month, Bieber filmed herself going from the sauna to the tub (and repeating the cycle).

Cold plunges are common practice among athletes as a form of post-workout recovery, but interest in the practice is growing outside the sports world as well. “People of all activity levels are experimenting with cold plunging as a non-pharmacologic means of [relieving] joint pain and inflammation,” Troy Russell, M.D., regional medical director of Primary360 at Teladoc Health, told Forbes Health.
However, there is still little evidence about the overall benefits. “Maybe it’s changes in adrenaline or cortisol—or even dopamine. There are a lot of hypotheses, as opposed to data,” Dr. Tracy Zaslow, a primary care sports medicine physician at the Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute, told People.
Hailey Bieber is understandably prioritizing her physical and mental wellness. In April, she spoke about her mental health struggles earlier this year, likely in light of the TikTok drama viciously pitting her and Selena Gomez against each other. Bieber wrote in an Instagram Story:
“I like to make jokes about how I feel because sometimes it’s easier than admitting I’m having a hard time. But truthfully since 2023 started I have had some of the saddest, hardest moments I’ve ever had in my adult life and my mind and emotions have been fragile to say the least. And I know so many other people feel the way I feel, so just know you’re not alone. 🫶🏼”
