Christina Aguilera rang in 2024 like it was 1999 all over again. The pop star kicked off her Las Vegas residency in a platinum blonde lob that looks extremely similar to the one she wore in her “Genie in a Bottle” days, and I’m sitting here wondering what year it actually is.
Aguilera returned to her short style for the first performances at the Venetian, hitting the stage in a shoulder length lob cut with flipped-out ends; as anyone who lived through the late ’90s can tell you, those flippy ends were the peak of fashion circa 1999, and Aguilera herself was often spotted wearing a variation on the look throughout her first years of fame. The 2023 version of Xtina opted for a sleek style with subtle layers throughout, parted deeply to one side with flicked-out ends, while her 1999 cut had way more layers and volume at the crown.
