For the last couple of weeks, blind items floating around on DeuxMoi and other unverified celeb gossip outlets have suggested that Taylor Swift could be secretly dating someone new. Yesterday, The Messenger fueled that speculation further, revealing that Swift and Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce had been spending time together.
“Taylor and Travis have been quietly hanging out,” a source told the outlet. “She saw him when she was in NYC a few weeks ago.”
As other outlets started to report news of their connection, a source clarified to Entertainment Tonight that Kelce isn’t Swift’s secret new boyfriend. A source said they are “not officially dating.”
The 33-year-old NFL player made headlines in July for discussing how he tried and failed to give to the 33-year-old singer his number. Kelce spoke with his brother, Philadelphia Eagles player Jason Kelce, about the attempt on his podcast, New Heights.
Kelce said he made Swift a friendship bracelet with his number on it for her Kansas City Eras tour stop. “I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings,” Kelce said.“So I was a little butthurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her.”
“I received a bunch of [friendship bracelets] being there, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it,” Kelce added. That ended up not being possible, he said, as “she doesn’t meet anybody, or at least she didn’t want to meet me, so I took it personal.”
His comments on the podcast got media pickup though, no doubt helping him land a private (alleged) meeting with Swift.
